Safety management systems: the S.T.A. service
S.T.A. designs and implements effective, customised safety management systems in line with Legislative Decree 81/08 and the UNI-INAIL Guidelines.
What safety management systems are
An SGSL (occupational health and safety management system) is a structured and coordinated set of technical, organisational and procedural measures, designed to reduce risks and improve safety conditions in the company. It is not just a set of documents, but a truly living system, which actively and continuously involves people, roles and responsibilities.
Management models are governed by Art. 30 of Legislative Decree 81/2008, which recognises the effectiveness of systems structured according to recognised standards, such as the UNI-INAIL Guidelines or the international standard ISO 45001 (which replaced the British Standard OHSAS 18001:2007).
The benefits of adopting an SGSL
Choosing to adopt a safety management system means going beyond regulatory compliance and embracing a proactive approach to prevention. Although adoption is not required by law, the benefits are many and tangible, from several points of view:
Organisational
It makes it possible to have clear, shared and monitorable procedures, improving coordination between the different company functions.
Economic
It reduces both direct costs, thanks to the possibility of obtaining reductions on INAIL rates (Art. 24 of the INAIL Rate Application Procedures), and indirect costs related to accidents, absences and operational stoppages.
Legal
An SGSL compliant with Art. 30 of Legislative Decree 81/08 can have an exempting effect on administrative liability under Legislative Decree 231/2001.
Reputational
It strengthens the company’s image with customers, suppliers, partners and institutions.
